PATSY E. RHODES

Coached Varsity Girls’ Basketball for 32 years, won 417 games, 5 Region Championships, 3 Region Runner-ups, 1 conference tournament championship, and 3 Conference Tournament Runner-ups.   Played for the Upper State Championship in 1989 and the Lower State Championship in 1990.  Coached the North-South All-Star Game in Basketball, Volleyball, and Softball.  She coached 17 basketball playoff teams.  She was the Region Coach of the Year 6 times and was the State Newspaper’s AA State Coach of the Year in 1985.  She was the S.C. Coaches Association of Women’s Sports Executive Secretary for 22 years.  She is a member of the S.C. Coaches Association Hall of Fame, S.C. Coaches Association of Women’s Sports Hall of Fame, and the S.C. Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.  She was also Saluda High School’s Teacher of the Year in 1995 and 2000.  The Saluda High School Basketball gym’s court was named “The Patsy E. Rhodes Court” in 2010.
