Yesterday the Saluda girls varsity soccer team played a home non conference match against Strom Thurmond High School. The Tigers showed much more effort in the first half of play than on the previous night. This match saw the return of Yesenia Portes in the midfield who had been injured since 2/27. The match saw Saluda’s Bailey Will score two goals in the first half off of assists by Belen Juarez (2 ). These two goals by Will were the 98th and 99th in her career as a Saluda Tiger. At the half the Tigers led by a score of 2-0. The second half saw much of the same effort by the Tigers. The Tigers scored on one of several corner kick opportunities as Belen Juarez was able to bend the ball into the back of the net. The score was now 3-0. As the Tigers continued to play a solid game of possession and attacking, Bailey Will scored her third goal of the game and a hat trick. This made her 100th career goal as a Saluda Tiger. Keeper Alondra Acevedo maintained a clean sheet and the match ended with your Tigers victorious 4-0. The team improves to 7-4 overall and 2-3 in the region.
